During the first lockdown in March 2020 I decided to take my thoughts, creativity and aspirations about visualising a dream sequence to the next stage. I spent several weeks in my garage drawing up designs and working through the physicality's of creating such a prop as I had envisaged. I had some key points on my checklist:

 

• It needed to be light enough to carry for a long period of time over rough ground

• It needed to look like an authentic bed

• It had to be quick and simple to put up and take down

• It needed to fit the dimensions of an air mattress

• It had to take my weight

• It needed to fit into my car / and 80l rucksack

• It had to be able to withstand a great number of shoots

 

The result was an authentic, lightweight, flat-pack bed which could be single-handedly transported to locations across Scotland.
